Fostoria Wedding Bells No. 789Fostoria Glass Company introduced its No. 789, Wedding Bells Ware, pattern in the December 28, 1899, issued of China, Glass and Lamps. The pattern was discontinued in late 1903. Although many of Fostoria's Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) patterns consisted of stars, diamonds, triangles and other geometric shapes, the Wedding Bells pattern consists of curves and swirls. The decorations on the pattern are identified as gold, ruby, and undecorated. Collectors know the ruby as maiden's blush. The gold and ruby are stains that are painted on the glass and then heated. The Wedding Bells pattern consists of fewer pieces that many EAPG patterns. The 1901 catalogue shows 27 pieces.          |
